Lighting design study for the urban development of the “Ban de Gasperich” area in Luxembourg: public and landscape lighting within the blocks and courtyards.
This project required a close coordination with the landscape architect (general concept, luminaire integration…), the architect (façade lighting, entrance lighting, accesses…) and with the technical and control services (emergency lighting, standards…).
Our approach is very minimalistic, by looking to preserve as much obscurity as possible and providing light only were required. We have developed various lighting atmospheres according to the character of the different spaces to provide a richer variety of experiences while walking around or crossing the area. We have, for instance, enhanced the domestic function by proposing warmer light sources within the courtyards.
