LIGHT A VILLAGE IN A CANDLELIGHT ATMOSPHERE
The challenge of this project to meet todayâs built environment lighting requirements (circulation, access to rooms, security, visual comfort) while merging within the thematic of the scenography of the land of the cold, to reflect that of a Nordic village located in a natural setting, prior to the discovery of electricity. ACTLDâs solution to realize the âimpossibleâ, was to make a strong lighting statement: To light all human and village areas in a candlelight atmosphere, and all external outdoor natural areas mimicking moonlight. For both situations, we had to reduce the light levels as much as possible to get the convincing ambiances.
